But no quotas for anyone who comes over our southern border. Rank discrimination against all the impoverished peoples of the world it seems to me.
However, if strife or unrest is an important criterion for being included in a quota, all the Christians who are being persecuted and martyred around the world, mostly by Muslims, but also by Hindus, ought to be first on the list. Interesting that Obama wants us to take Muslims but hardly any of the Christians among the refugees from Syria. But cultural compatibility isn't big on the leftists' list. The whole point is to kill America, culturally and literally. Whether by Muslim refugees or self-selected illegals coming over the southern border. Heaven forbid Americans might have rights in the matter. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

If I told someone to get off my thread, which I did once or twice I believe, I'd be called on it by Admin, which I was as I recall, because EvC is all about fairness and equality and I can't determine who posts to my thread. But I understand you're a special case.
Do I now have your permission to tell people to get off my threads? Believe it or not I'm not trying to pick a fight, I'm trying to get the truth across. That's what I try to do in all my posts. But being odd man out at EvC it ends up picking fights because the locals don't like my opinions.

Except that very few items in the Old Testament are actual laws in our legal system... Yes, I should have been clearer. I was making a distinction between Old and New Testaments, not saying the OT is the source of our laws (although there was a time when it was the basis of our legal system, not that all of it applied). Anyway the point was that the OT is (basically) Law but Jesus didn't come to give Law but to fulfill the Law and save believers from its condemnation, and Law is necessary to governments, while Jesus talked only to individuals about personal behavior as believers and how to be saved. But this must be off topic. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Does Meryl Streep's talk at the Golden Globes belong on this thread? I'd guess so since it speaks to his personal qualifications, which was the point of her speech. So I'll answer it in case the answer isn't known here:
Trump makes those strange gestures to mock people in general who tick him off with their comments. I saw a presentation of example after example of him doing that about all kinds of things people said. It's a weird quirk but it was not directed at the man's disability, only to whatever it was he said. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

And here's a video showing Trump mocking lots of different people with the same kind of gesture:
\ Shouldn't we wonder why this necessary context wasn't reported by the usual media? Why was Streep so easily duped by it? Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

SO typical. I prove that he wasn't mocking a disabled man for his disability, which is what this whole flap is about, and now you try to get him for mocking anybody at all. Classic case of "moving the goal posts." Really, you should thank me for clearing up that bit of slander promoted by the leftist media. Naa, one way or another we're gonna get Trump. Oopsy can't mock anybody who says stu-pid things. Of course mockery is standard among leftists for dealing with THEIR opponents, it's even promoted as the right kind of response in all the quotes about how you must ridicule opinions you dislike. Double standard anyone? Political correctness continues to keep minds in shackles. I hope if Trump's Presidency accomplishes anything it takes that piece of evil and digs its grave.

Thanks for that much acknowledgment.
There are plenty of instances where Trump has gone way too far, that make me cringe too. All the more necessary it seems to me to correct false impressions of such crudenesses. I thought he apologized for what he said about Cruz's wife. And I think the "locker room" example is also overblown, even possibly completely taken out of context (as my "Humor" thread entry mentions). I don't really want to get into this subject, I just wanted to correct that one glaring error.

Here's the first entry from Google about the apology:
Donald Trump Apologizes To Heidi & Ted Cruz: He’s Sorry About Photo? – Hollywood Life But please let's not go farther down this rabbit trail.

I addressed only his remarks about Cruz's wife, not his father, and his saying he shouldn't have sent the photo, whatever that article says about it, others call it an apology. Your having a stricter standard is irrelevant.

It will be, uh, interesting to see how the more inimical aspects of Trump's behavior play out as President. Is there one that particularly concerns you?

His ridiculously thin skin for starters. I've heard this but have seen nothing I would describe that way. Without knowing exactly what you have in mind I'd guess it's his determination to answer what people say against him, which I see as a strength, keeping the lies to a minimum and the public informed of the truth. Is my guess in the ballpark? Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

That sounds to me like some really really dirty tricks and lies.

Unfortunately it serves somebody's political interests to put out a disgusting rumor about a hated opponent. Everything I've seen on it this morning so far calls it out for its absolute lack of evidence and other telltale signs of being a fabrication. I'm hoping Trump may be able to sue for defamation.
The anti-Trump people haven't stopped trying to bring him down since he started rising in the primaries and they'll probably keep it up throughout his Presidency if they don't succeed in assassinating him. Plans to disrupt the inauguration are next on the agenda as I understand it. OR, hope against hope, maybe he'll actually be able to win over some of his enemies and pull the nation together as he's often said is his aim. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

His narcissism is the basis for his foreign policy. If a world leader says nice things about Trump, he will bend over backwards to do whatever they want. Putin is a perfect example of this. He doesn't care if he uses lies to attack people that are critical of his policies. Today's policies are tomorrow's garbage. He thinks the best path is whatever he feels like that day. Trump thinks women are sex objects, and little else. Those are a few off the top of my head. Interesting that your list is nothing but a list of snarky opinions that purport to read the man's mind, not a single fact. The only one I give a little credence to is his attitude toward women, but since I hate political correctness more than I object to sexism the credence isn't much. I thought Gavin McInnes' comments (on that video I posted on the Humor thread) about the "locker room" story about grabbing women by the crotch, were an interesting debunkery of the usual take on that. He said it was taken out of context, that Trump was describing how groupies behave, and expressing astonishment that they just allow men to grab them like that at will. I haven't checked this out myself but I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out it's true, just because there's such a massive leftist project to malign the man, which your snarky mindreading list fits right into. Donald Trump has claimed he's okay with same-sex marriage, calling it settled law by way of SCOTUS decisions. Do we take him at his word, or do we 'look into his heart' as KellyAnne Conway suggests, and try to divine his true feelings on the matter? Do you, Faith, think you know his mind on this matter, as you seem to know his mind on so many other things? He's said he's OK with gay marriage and I've said I wish he wasn't. I haven't changed my opinion.
