You mean the constitutionally described militia of the Several States that is discussed in the Article 2? The one that the president is the command-in-chief of? Or are you talking about the fantasy militia gun nuts think we ought to have just in case the federal army attempts to march down one of the various Jefferson Davis Highways.

Stupid gun nut arguments
How is this a a good argument? Of course we are going to call the police, that is how a civilized society works. There are so many fails with this argument. I friend who is supposed be an atheist(he also hunts ghosts), posted this on facebook. I asked him how it has anything to do with the current debate. He told me it speaks for itself. I have never had anyone break into my house. I know of only one person that had a break in while they were home. So how is having a loaded handgun at the ready going to help me? Isn't there more of a chance of a horrific accident then me actually protecting my castle from the invading hordes? Anyone able to express why the ammosexuals would think this argument is helpful to them in any way? CS? Yah got anything?

How is this a a good argument? Of course we are going to call the police, that is how a civilized society works. The argument appears ridiculous because you are not channeling the spirit of a gun advocate. Gun advocates will tell you that the police will arrive well past time to shoot so you need to be the one hanging out in Starbucks or the bar, or the DMV with your BFG at the ready.

Did they seriously fire a live shell, or was this a freak accident with some sort of blank ?
Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

For crying out loud ! Clearly there is no amount of damage, no potential loss of innocent life, which is too great a price to pay, for a pretty enough bang from a gun for these muppets ! Edited by vimesey, : No reason given.

Well, this is interesting.

See, if you've ever wanted to know how to tell a good guy with a gun from a bad guy with a gun, here it is: the bad guy is the first guy to take his gun out and point it at the good guy, who is then helpless.

I don't think death is a suitable punishment for any crime. But these are not punishments for crimes. Nobody was convicted, no punishment was applied
You listed a bunch of cases where people were shot dead, by gun carrying civilians. It seems to me that the person with the gun acted as judge, jury and executioner. They determined the guilt and handed out the punishment.
Yes, because people have a right to defend themselves, even with lethal force if necessary.
So do you think lethal force (i.e. Death) is suitable punishment for -Burgalry -Shoplifting -Dangerous driving -Carjacking -Threatening violence If so, why don't you campaign for it to bee written into law? If not, You must be against Joe Public having the capacity to administer this punishment
